On the 10th November we were asked to film our first video that demonstrated our understanding of Continuity.
We had to produce a 2 minute video that had continuity throughout so each shot ( from each angle ) flowed easily from one to another and things were continuous throughout, examples of bad continuity could be:
- change of costume in different shot
- people appearing or disappearing in shots ( as the public appear upexpectedly during shooting ).
We had to include certain conventions of Film Noir, such as Match On Action, 180 degree rule and reverse shot.
Here is the finished product:
My role was the filming, I decided many of the angles and directed the shots/what would be happening in them. Daniel appeared in the film and contributed a lot of ideas about how to film. Ria and Conor also appeared in the video and also contributed ideas.
We learnt a lot from the continuity task that i will post on here at a later date (.. as we created a rough slide of good and bad continuity) so what we've learn't will be beneficial to our final projects.
Haha, that's hilarious, but the camera angles are really good as well, especially the top-down in the toilet. I also like the way it cuts to Ria in between Daniel trying the doors. Really funny :)
